The mandatory setup fee ensures your organization is formally vetted and registered prior to issuing live EU-compliant passports:
Add capacity without upgrading full tiers if you bring in sudden seasonal imports:
The โฌ1,800 one-time fee covers the hands-on technical work of connecting your systems to ours โ performed by our team before your first invoice:
No. Small catalogs (under 15 SKUs) use the standard form โ it takes about an hour. Larger catalogs use bulk import: export your product list from your ERP or Excel, upload it once, and the platform creates all passports automatically. Enterprise clients connect their ERP/WMS via our REST API โ every product added to their system generates a passport automatically, with zero manual entry. The โฌ1,800 technical setup covers exactly this integration work.
About 80% of the data you already have: materials, origin, weight and SKU are in your product specs, invoices and supplier documents (every imported product has passed customs โ the data exists). For the rest โ COโ footprint, recyclability, repairability โ the platform calculates estimates automatically based on material type and category, using recognized industry values. If you have an official LCA report, you can override the estimates. This approach is explicitly permitted under ESPR in the initial phase, and Business plan clients get our manual data verification on top.
The declarant โ you โ remain legally responsible for the accuracy of declared origin and composition data (you confirm this with the responsibility declaration when issuing a passport). This mirrors how customs declarations work today. What SustainPassport adds: Business plan includes manual data verification by our compliance team before issuance, and the platform flags inconsistent entries automatically.
SAP-class enterprise solutions cost โฌ100,000โ300,000 and take 6โ12 months โ built for Tier-1 companies with thousands of SKUs and dedicated compliance teams. Free government portals serve only as inspection registries โ they don't extract supplier data, calculate footprints, or generate GS1 labels. SustainPassport occupies the middle ground: enterprise-grade output at roughly โฌ25 per passport, for companies that need real compliance without enterprise budgets.
It covers hands-on work our team performs before your first invoice: legal business validation (VAT, registry), GS1 prefix verification, and initial catalog ingestion. For Enterprise, the โฌ1,800 covers the full ERP/API integration project โ connecting your systems, importing up to 500 SKUs, and configuring SLA and data residency. It also ensures our client base consists of committed companies โ which keeps our support quality high.
Custom volume overages are available on Enterprise โ additional SKUs are priced per block, and very high-volume importers move to usage-based billing (base fee + per-passport pricing). Contact us with your catalog size and we'll structure it.
Yes โ upgrade anytime, effective immediately. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Your passports, QR codes and data remain untouched regardless of plan changes.
You're ahead of the curve โ and that's the cheapest time to be ready. Batteries and electronics are first (deadlines already codified), textiles and furniture follow through 2026โ2027. Retailers and B2B buyers are already asking for passports ahead of legal deadlines, so early issuers gain a sales advantage, not just compliance.
